    Bob Sonju is executive director of learning and development for Washington County School District and an adjunct professor of education at Dixie State University in Utah. He is former principal of nationally recognized Fossil Ridge Intermediate School and has also served as a high school administrator and special education teacher. With a passionate focus on student learning, specific interventions, and sustaining an effective school culture, Bob and the staff at Fossil Ridge developed a professional learning community that produces extraordinary results.

    Fossil Ridge was selected as a 2013 National Breakthrough School by the National Association of Secondary School Principals, and their work as a school has been featured in Principal Leadership Magazine and on allthingsplc.info. Bob is leading the implementation of a PLC districtwide.

    Bob was named 2011 Principal of the Year for middle-level schools by the Utah Association of Secondary School Principals and was selected one of three finalists for National Principal of the Year by the National Association of Secondary School Principals. His work has been published in Principal Leadership Magazine and Impact Journal. Bob is also an educational consultant who works with school and district leaders and learning teams to develop the skills and culture needed to for success.
